GPS Mounting Guide

These days, there are many GPS makes/models to choose from. Which means what works great for mounting one GPS on a motorcycle may not be best for another.

We offer several ways to mount GPS on a motorcycle (as well as various mounting locations - details and videos here!) including:
  • eCaddy Diamond: the most streamlined design
  • eCaddy Ball: the simplest install
  • eCaddy Deluxe: most flexible option
  • Windshield GPS mounts

Model-Specific Recommendations

If you prefer to jump directly to the products, here are recommendations:
  • Magellan Roadmate series: The eCaddy Ball may be used with RoadMate GPS as long as you have the ball receiver hole (may be an aftermarket accessory).

Some Magellan GPS have "T-slots" on the backside (some are a single slot and some are two). In order to work with our eCaddy Deluxe mount, this slot design must be "converted" to the standard 4-hole "amps" pattern). The AP032-VSM plate (shown above) can be purchased here and used to convert the TWO-slot design. Unfortunately, at this time we have not found a decent option for the single slot design.

Powering Your GPS

For your convenience, we offer two power options. Both simple, easy install!

USB Power Port:
Mount a USB port on your bar or near your dash. Your device plugs in there; the other end is wired to a switched circuit. Details here

Direct-to-Battery:
One end is wired to your motorcycle's battery. The other plugs into your electronic device. Details here

Optional: Anti-Glare Screen

Attaches around your device and acts like a sun shade. Highly recommended!

eCaddy Diamond

Features the Ultra-Swivel, which is very slim and extremely adjustable, as well as a form-fitted cradle shaped and sized to your specific GPS model (so your GPS will never fall out). Aesthetically pleasing and the most secure (and our favorite).

WORKS WITH: Garmin Nuvi and many TomTom GPS.

eCaddy Ball

Utilizes a ball design similar to those often seen in cars (but looks much nicer!), so that you can rotate/tilt the GPS with almost no limit.

You must have a 17mm hole "receiver" plate. These are often included in your kit (Garmin Nuvi, for example), or purchaseable online (do a search for "windshield mount for [insert model of gps here]").

WORKS WITH: most Garmin Nuvi; most Magellan Roadmate.

eCaddy Deluxe

Some GPS models have a 4-hole pattern (called an "AMPS" pattern, 1.5" x 1.25")on their back or accompanying cradle (as shown in this photo).

If your GPS has this pattern (and the holes are threaded), the eCaddy Deluxe is the perfect fit.

Some GPS cradles have a 2-hole "stretched" diamond shaped pattern instead (as shown in this photo). If so, you can still use this kit (using two of the holes kitty-corner from each other), but most customers prefer the more streamlined look of the eCaddy Diamond Mount (see above).

Waterproof GPS Mounts

If keeping water off your GPS is of high importance to you, check out the eCaddy Deluxe with the Aqua Box. (This is the same kit as above, just add the box.) The Aqua Box has the same 4-hole "amps" pattern that connects to our hardware.
